Original Art Painting: Difference between Hand-painting, Canvas Transfer & Digital Print

What is an original art painting? And what makes it different from other fake forms of art paintings? Here we check it out,

Modern Abstract Cityscape Painting

Paintings are produced in a number of ways and methods including original and duplicate. You can buy paintings ashand-painted, canvas transferred or digital printed. Each one has its own share of pros and cons, and depending on your requirement and comfort, you are free to pursue any of them. But, hand-painted one is the original painting.

Anyway, it is vital to understand major difference between these options. One of the key forms of painting is hand-painting. This method requires the person to coin up an idea on a natural event, historical incident or any other topic. Thereafter, he is required to mimic this idea into a canvas using his hands. The artist must be competent and experienced, since sharp eyes and deft hands are mandatory to make hand-painted paintings.

Another method is the one which is commonly known as canvas transfer. Usually, here an artist just needs to copy out a painting without adding much to the second work. However, he is free to refine it or add subtle alterations if he so desires. The basic gist of the process involves:
  • Applying acrylic to a lithograph
  • Allowing it to dry
  • Scraping off the dried image and then transferring it to a canvas

Canvas transfer thus doesn't demand too much expertise on the part of the artist. Hence, even if the person is an amateur, he can pull this form of art successfully. However, the artist, at his discretion, is free to improvise and do some additions/subtractions as the situation demands.

Thus, the main differences between hand-painted painting and canvas transfer are:
  • The former requires a certain level of experience and mastery over the craft. On the other hand, the latter is preferred by amateurs and young beginners.
  • Hand-painted creations carry greater risk and it is tough to make a precise imitation of the original subject, and so it will mostly be original painting. On the contrary, canvas transfer enjoys less risk and offers higher chance of producing exact replica.
  • Hand-painted ones require greater effort, time and expenses. Canvas transfer is convenient, less time-consuming and much more economic.
A third and more recent/advanced form is digital printing. Using machines like printers, scanners, and graphic software tools like Photoshop, this form of printing produces much more precise replica without any visible flaw or alteration from the original. It is richer in quality, but limits the artist’s creativity to a certain point. But, before concluding, remember that only the first form produces original and genuine paintings.

Hanging Artwork: How to Hang Hanging Artwork

Modern Abstract Art Painting from Fabuart
Hanging art is considered as an interior design work and we cannot deny the fact that several people do not give much value on this. Most of them neglect it since this is just simple enough to do. It is just as simple as looking for empty spot on the wall, getting somewhat framed and just displaying it. Actually, the process of displaying such a hanging artwork does not stop there. There are various strategies to put in mind when hanging a masterpiece. Here are some tips if you are planning to install a hanging artwork on your wall.

Lighting is Vital

To give stress to the installation, the use of appropriate lighting will bebest. It is always a good idea to make use of walls with decent and pre-existing lighting. This could save money and deciding to what to hang up is much easier. Experimenting with spotlights and track lighting is also worth it. Try to discover which gives more drama and works best. Without proper lighting, your artworks will look uninteresting and dull. Always avoid wasting any good masterpiece by displaying improperly.

Consider the Furniture Size and your Wall

These are the two most essential practices to make the whole thing right. The universal rule is to make use of smaller arts for tight walls and huge ones for the larger walls. Putting a border with smaller ones is one of the good tricks you may apply. This creates a principal point and makes those spaces more eye-catching and smart.

Expert art hangers recommend that you will also acknowledge the furniture sizes. Do not display any artworks longer the width of such furniture. It should match the furniture instead of taking away the spotlight.

Horizontal and Vertical Tips

When hanging an art, using the proper lines could make all the difference. Put in mind your goal and what to achieve. Go vertical if your goal is to have some illusion of height to your room. On the other hand, horizontal installation widens and elongates a space. Observe the placement of the room and decide which one will work best for you.

Harmonizing Colors

Do not ever neglect the role of colors in the entire aesthetic of such space. Clashing of colors of the walls and furniture to hanging art is not always an ideal way. It just destroys the overall atmosphere of the room and it could be so distracting. Always avoid this matter by retaining your color palette in mind as you purchase for any artwork you are about to hang. You can also modernize your room and make use of the masterpiece as your motivation for what the other rooms look like.

Some picture hangers normally endorse the black and white pictures for whichever room color since it can adjust to the previous design arrangement andit is neutral. This installation could be an additional contemporary touch to your room. If you are making efforts to meet your goals, give it some thought.

Modern Fine Art Painting - Oil Painting Vs Acrylic Painting

Abstract Nature Artwork
Painting can show the true talent and skills of an artist. Thus, the medium to be used must fit to the skills and talents of the artist. Oil paints and Acrylic paints are good mediums in which you can choose from. Each of these mediums has its own advantage and disadvantage. A great artist can just adjust to the medium he is using but still if he does not master the medium he can still have difficulties and may even result to an artwork that has of no value to the artist.

An artist should know what technique, style and medium is fitted to him and painting is so much organized that you must take consideration of the time and materials being used. Oil paint is a traditional medium and is basically powder pigments mixed with clear linseed oil. Oil paints take much time to dry but still it is favorable for those beginners.

Mixing colors through oil paint are advantageous because of the time it takes to dry up, it is perfect for mixing different shades and for the artist to have that time to decide whether the color is enough or not. Before a painting can dry up, the artist can decide what to adjust and edit.  Moreover, oil paint is unique for the luminescent drama that can be seen on a finished product. Oil paints had been known to be the best medium for painters.

Acrylic paint on the other hand, unlike oil paint, is considered as a new medium. With the characteristic that it dries quickly, it is best for having different layers to a painting.Acrylic paint is mainly powder pigments which are mixed with a liquid acrylic plastic medium. You do not have to wait for an hour or more to have the finished product. You can just add a layer, and another and another and an artwork can be finished with just a small amount of time.

In using acrylic paint, you need to plan ahead before making your artwork because you will only have a limited time to decide on what color to add and to blend. If using acrylic paint take note that you should plan ahead and you must have a fast decision making to bring out the best results.

For some artists, they can use both acrylic paint and oil paint. They use acrylic paint first as primers for their backgrounds or outlines and for some they use oil paints first to know which spaces should be filled by acrylic paint. Either way, any combination could be used. With training and a creative mind, your strokes can be as good as the best known artists of all times.

By the way, all our artists use quality oil painting and cotton canvas for making your favorite paintings that you can see in our collections. Our paintings include all major varieties in the modern artwork including abstract art, metal wall art, cityscape paintings, canvas art, spatula artwork and much more.
